Disley Primary School Commitment to Safer Recruitment

At Disley Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We recognise that safer recruitment is an essential part of creating a safe environment in which children can learn, thrive and achieve.

The school follows the safer recruitment requirements set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education and the policies of the True Learning Partnership. All recruitment processes are designed to deter, identify and reject unsuitable applicants and to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are appointed.

As part of our recruitment procedures, all applicants are subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including verification of identity, qualifications, employment history, references and the right to work in the UK. An online search may also be undertaken as part of the shortlisting process.

All staff appointed to roles involving regulated activity with children are required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including a check of the children's barred list, before employment commences. The school also undertakes appropriate vetting and suitability checks for governors, volunteers, contractors and any other adults working within the school, where required.

We remain vigilant in our responsibility to protect children and are committed to ensuring that safeguarding is at the heart of every appointment we make.
