Department for Education (DfE)
The Department for Education (DfE) is the government department responsible for education and children's services in England. It plays a key role in shaping national policy for early years, schools, further education, higher education, apprenticeships and child protection.
The DfE provides statutory guidance, legislation updates, curriculum information and support for schools, parents and education professionals. It is also responsible for important guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, school admissions guidance and information relating to SEND provision.
Parents and carers can access a wealth of information through the DfE website, including guidance on school admissions, attendance, safeguarding, childcare support, school performance data and educational policies.
At Disley Primary School, we work within the statutory framework and guidance provided by the Department for Education to ensure that every child receives a safe, high-quality education and the support they need to thrive.
