At Disley Primary School we aim to provide a secure environment where children always feel welcome, safe and happy.  All staff at Disley understand that anyone who comes into contact with children, their families and carers has a role to play in Safeguarding.  Safeguarding is of paramount importance and it is always taken extremely seriously.  All staff have up to date Child Protection training and therefore have an understanding of the signs of abuse and neglect.   Staff are aware of how instant communication with the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy is and how vital it is in order to ascertain the most appropriate course of action.  Dealing and responding to Safeguarding issues and concerns can be challenging and difficult at times but all decisions made ensure that the children’s best interests and ultimate safety are at the heart of all actions undertaken.

Safeguarding Concerns Outside School Hours

If you have an immediate safeguarding concern about a child outside of school hours, please do not wait until the school reopens.

If a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact the Police on 999.

For concerns that do not require an emergency response but where you believe a child may be at risk of abuse or neglect, you should contact Cheshire East Children's Social Care:

• During office hours: 0300 123 5012
• Out of hours Emergency Duty Team: 0300 123 5022

Once school reopens, please inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or a member of the safeguarding team so that any ongoing support can be coordinated appropriately.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If you are worried about a child, it is always better to share your concerns and seek advice.
